Despite the peaceful attempt for freedom through the Declaration of Independence of 1776, there was a revolutionary war which led to loss of life and properties. The question that comes up is what was the revolutionary war, when did it end , why was it fought, when and how did it end.
The revolutionary war which was seen as the American revolutionary war a political upheaval during the last half of 18th century in which the thirteen colonies in North America joined together to break free from the British rule. They first rejected the authority of the parliament of Great Britain to govern them from overseas without representation.
The War was as a result of series of social, political and intellectual transformation in the early American Society and Government.
By 1774 each colony had established a provincial congress and an equivalent governmental institution that governed itself and by 1775 there was the second continental congress for all colonies. The British responded by sending combat troops to re-impose direct rule. These led to the joining of the states to defend their respective self-governance and managed the armed conflict against the British.
Ultimately, the state collectively determined that the British monarchy could no longer legitimately claim their allegiance. The Colonies severed their ties with the British Empire in July 1776.
The war ended with effective American Victory in October 1781, followed by the formal British abandonment of any claims to the United State with the treaty of Paris in 1783.
